Something to Die (ary) for..

Let's assume everyone who has ever lived, past or present, has kept a detailed diary of their personal lives, inner thoughts, reflections, fears, hopes, dreams, etc. Whose diary would you absolutely, 100% want to read? Why theirs? Explain what you would find interesting about their life or what questions you'd want to know answers to. On the flip side, who would be someone you would absolutely NOT want to ever read your diary? Why not?

  1. If I were to read someone's diary, I would read My grandpa’s. Because I would like to see what he did in as a kid. I also would want to read it because he always told story about hunting and his old dairy farm. I would like to find more of his story's. Also, my grandpa didn’t care what other people thought so I would like to read about the things he said to people or what he did that other people didn’t like, I think that would be a funny thing to read. I would also like to see how he did things different back then versus the things we do now. However, I wouldn’t want to read my parents diary because if I found bad stuff or weird stuff, I probably would see them differently or I would disrespect them.

  2. I would read my Great Grandma Gavin’s dairy/journal. She had a sister die when she was in her teens and they were close. She also had a brother die when he was just a baby. I never got to meet her husband and that would have been cool because he served his time in a war. He died of cancer and I always wanted to meet him. My Grandma Gavin also lived during the great depression, so I always wanted to know what happened in their daily life during the great depression. I wouldn’t want anyone to read mine because some of it is embarrassing. I only want to be the one to read my dairy unless I let you read it.

  3. If I had to choose one person's diary to read I would have to choose to read Martin Luther King Jr.'s. I would want to read his because he lived during a very interesting time in society and he accomplished lots of things. I would want to know exactly what he was feeling while he was giving speeches or what he was just feeling in general during this whole time period. I would also want to know what other things he might've thought to try instead of what he did. You don't really know exactly what he was thinking you can only assume. If I had a dairy I wouldn't want anyone to read it because it is my personal business and I wouldn't want anyone to be able to read that. I would put things in there that no one could read. If I had to choose I would not want my friends to read it because it would probably talks about them.

  4. If I had to choose to take someone’s diary, I’d pick John Lennon’s journal. John Lennon was a unique character with lots to say but he only spread his messages through his music. He’d be kind of interesting to know what he was thinking and what his entire life was like. As a child, he had hardships and grew up poor, but no one knows the entire story. I think it’d fascinating to know what John Lennon actually thought and what he chose to say and not say to the public. If there was someone who I didn’t want to read my diary it’d probably be my parents. It’s not like I do anything absurd or disappointing but having a private life from your parents is something most people should cherish. Parents are meant to be your guardians and parents; they aren’t supposed to be your best friends and know everything about you.

  5. If I were to read anybody's diary, I would choose Hitlers. I would choose his because I would be curious to know what was going on inside his psychotic head. I don’t necessarily find anything interesting about his life because he is a sociopath and personally, he did just a little too much cruel things for me to even admire him. Questions I would want answered is why he did it? What lead him to do this? And did he ever go and see a therapist? I would not want anyone to read my diary. I wouldn’t want anybody to read my diary because it's my own personnel business and not theirs.

  6. I would want to read my ancestor Bernhard Sanders’ diary because he was the first person on my dads side of the family to come to America in the 1800’s. I think it would be interesting to see what his hopes and dreams for coming to America were as he was from Germany. It would be interesting to read about how he ended up coming to America and were he went and what he encountered when he got here. The only thing I know about him is his name and where he came into America from. He came in through Boston, before Ellis Island was a thing, it would be interesting to read about moving to a completely different country and how he felt about it and how he handled it. For my diary I wouldn’t want anyone to read it until after I am dead, and I don’t want the people reading it to have known me. I do think it would be interesting for my great-great-great grandchildren to read it and to know things that I went through because life as we know it will be completely different a hundred years from now when they would be reading this diary.

  7. If I could read anyone’s diary, I would probably read the first Aitchison to come over to the United States diary. I would like to know why they came here and what life was like back then. I would love to know the history of how my family came to be here in Iowa. I would also like to learn about the traits and characteristics that have been carried through my family’s blood that make me who I am today. However, if someone were to read my diary, I would not want my mom to read mine. I wouldn’t want her to read my diary because she is so great that I wouldn’t want her to think that my struggles and fears came from her. I know that if she read it, she would take responsibility for these things so I wouldn’t want her to know them.

  8. If I could read anybody living or dead’s diary, I would like to read the diary of Queen Elizabeth. I find the royal family to fascinating. I love watching shows like the Crown and just learning and experiencing what life was like for them. I would also love to learn not just what her daily life is like, but what she does for Great Britain. I also feel like the queen has something to hide. I would like to unveil all the secrets of the royal family. I would also love to live their luxurious lifestyle. I would not want my children to read my diary, they would probably think I was the dumbest person in high school.

  9. If I had to choose someones diary to read I would most likely choose to read King Tut's. I would choose his diary because becoming king at that young of an age would certainly be interesting. I also would be curious to see how he reacted to having this stressful of a position, and at the same time how he responding to having the luxury of being King. If I was to choose someone not to read my diary it would have to be my mother. I would choose this for obvious reasons. I can think of absolutely no one else that would be worse to have read my diary.

  10. If I could read anyone Diary I would read Elon Musks. I would want to read his because being that rich would be very interesting. I also would like to read it so I could know more about his childhood and years staring his business. I would like to see how hard it was for him to get where he is now. On the other hand there is not really anyone wouldn't want to read my diary because everyone in my life knows I don't do much and when I do things my parents and friends know.

  11. If i could read anyones diary i would read my Moms diary. I would want to read my moms diary because i would want to know what she was like as a kid and teenager. I would learn about my grandpa her dad that i never got to meet. i would find out what it was like to go on adventures with him. I would know what it was like to be a mom at such a young age. Most importantly i would know what my mom thinks of me and find out what she knows about me. I would find out what times she was actually proud of me or the times she was disappointed in me. I would also find out about the times she was worried and mad at me. My mom is not the type of person to show feelings other than being frustrated or mad. I would also get to know what my mom and dad were like together to know if they actually ever loved each other. I don't know this because i was 4 years old when they got a divorce i only remember one time when they were together and that was the night they broke up it was there big fight on Christmas eve. I would like to not remember them as that i would like to know what it was like when they were happy together. I would not want my mom to ever read my diary because i have been in horrible situations and i would not want her to ever know. My mom does not approve of my friends she is very judgemental she doesn't understand why i do the things i do either. Maybe it would be a good thing for her to read my diary because then she would understand why i am the way i am and why i hang with he people i do. Maybe she wouldn't understand she is a very hard headed person.
